PAIA Manual

This page explains, in a practical format, how access to information requests can be made in relation to records held by Vylo Holdings and, where relevant, records held by Discovery Life Limited as principal product supplier and FSP within the Discovery structure.

Categories of records

  • Client enquiry records, personal details and communication logs.
  • Records of advice, product comparisons, application support and follow-up servicing records.
  • Complaints, compliance and dispute-resolution records.
  • Operational, contractual, regulatory and website-related records maintained for lawful business purposes.
  • Records that may be created, stored or processed within Discovery systems where the matter relates to a Discovery product or service.

How to request access

  • Submit a written request or the prescribed PAIA form with enough detail to identify the record requested.
  • State the form of access you require, such as inspection, copy or electronic copy.
  • Provide proof of identity and any authority to act for another person if applicable.
  • Where a prescribed request or access fee applies, payment may be required before the request is processed.

Response times and refusal grounds

PAIA generally requires a response within 30 days, subject to lawful extension where permitted. Access may be refused where the law protects third-party privacy, confidential commercial information, legally privileged records, security interests or other protected categories.

Because Vylo acts as a juristic representative of Discovery Life Limited, some requested records may be held by Discovery rather than by Vylo directly. In those situations, requests may need to be coordinated through Discovery's privacy team or directed to the relevant Discovery manual.
